Director appointed for UK Steel Enterprise

A new director has been appointed to head UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE)

A new director has been appointed to head UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE).

Darlington-born Simon Hamilton, 44, is regional manager of UKSE, the support subsidiary of Tata Steel – covering the North of England and Scotland. He will take up his new role at the company’s Sheffield HQ.

Hamilton has been with UK Steel Enterprise, set up more than 30 years ago, for about 16 years.

UKSE supports the regeneration of areas affected by changes in the steel industry helping to create jobs by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with finance of up to £750,000 in loan and equity, business premises and funds community initiatives.

Nationally, UK Steel Enterprise has supported more than 4,850 companies with £80m of true risk capital, invested more than £33m in workspace and allocated £8m to support community projects. More than 72,000 jobs have been created.
