Dip in profitability for Hutton Chemicals Ltd as turnover increases to £137m

Petrochemicals specialist Hutton Chemicals Ltd increased turnover to £137m in its 2014 financial year.

Accounts for the Guisborough-based produce of aromatics and paraffins show turnover had increased by more than £8m as pre-tax profits fell from £424,339 to £413,937.

The firm sells a range of aromatics, paraffins, linear alkyl benzene and propylene from associated companies in Russia.

Hutton also supplies to top petrochemicals and detergent producers in Western Europe and the US.

Membership of the Russian British Chamber of Commerce has enabled Hutton to offer consultancy services to emerging Russian groups, as well as Western firms wanting to do business in Russia.

The Rectory Lane-based outfit employs six people and said its balance sheet showed a “healthy position” regarding shareholders’ funds.
