Dickinson Dees makes new partners and directors

NEWCASTLE law firm Dickinson Dees has promoted two lawyers to its partnership and made eight new director appointments.

NEWCASTLE law firm Dickinson Dees has promoted two lawyers to its partnership and made eight new director appointments.

Ben Butler, who has been with the firm since 2001, will be taking up position as a corporate partner in the firm’s company and commercial department in Newcastle.

Butler has substantial experience advising on a full range of corporate transactions and expertise in the technical aspects of company and corporate law.

Claire Brook, who joined the firm’s York office as senior counsel in 2009, will take up a role as partner and head of the planning team.

Brook, who has extensive experience in the waste and energy sectors, said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge of my new role with the planning team and am also excited to be joining the partnership as it embarks on its new strategy for growth, including a continued focus on the Yorkshire market.”

The director promotions are: Kate Buckham, pensions (York); Andrew Farquharson, agriculture (Newcastle and York); Alistair Scott-Somers, corporate (York); Ian Atkinson, construction (Newcastle); Joanna Bromhead, commercial disputes (Newcastle); Ged Flanagan, commercial disputes, Newcastle; Iain Pritty, corporate (Newcastle); Ed Duffield, employment (Tees Valley).
