Business communications firm Daisy Group plc has merged its Prudhoe and Gateshead offices in a move to protect jobs within the North East.

A total of 58 office staff – made up of technical, engineering, service and help desk operatives – previously based in Daisy Data Centre Solutions’ former Team Valley office, have been re-located into the Prudhoe office.

Daisy Data Centre Solutions was formed from Daisy’s acquisition of the ex-2e2 data centres in February this year and made the decision to safeguard jobs within the area rather than moving to a different location. The Gateshead offices’ services now move to offices in the South.

Managing Director of Daisy Data Centre Solutions, Andrew Goldwater, said: “The move is a real boost to the economy of the North East.

“The merge allows us to retain the expert staff we currently have and provide them with fresh, modern facilities to work in.

“The Prudhoe office has gone from having under 100 staff, to now being home to more than 150, which is a great example of our commitment to retaining jobs within the local area.”
