FURTHER European expansion is helping a fireplace company achieve impressive sales growth which it says will help it more than double its turnover over the next few years.

CVO Fire has been in operation for 16 months after emerging from the ashes of a previous fireplace company at the same Newton Aycliffe location.

Since its inception in June 2007 its growth has been sustained and now expects to hit a turnover of £2m for its first full year of trading being driven by a strong export market.

Earlier this year CVO opened distribution networks in Spain, Cyprus, Greece and Ireland and has increased its European presence by recruiting distributors in Portugal, Norway and Sweden.

Andrew Munro, managing director, said: “The additional revenue from export has seen sales increase by approximately 35% in recent months.”

He said the company will be adding eight staff to its 12-strong workforce in the coming year.

The previous company CVO Fire Products went bust. Mr Munro and financial director Christine McLoughlin, who had both worked for CVO, launched the new company.
