IT company sees growth in its niche market

SYNTHESIS IT provides the supply, installation, support and maintenance of business computer hardware and software to small and medium enterprises who usually, though not exclusively, don’t have their own dedicated IT team.

The firm moved into new premises at Amron House, in Borough Road, North Shields, last summer.

Having found a niche market for its expertise, this has been a time of rapid growth for the company and as managing director, Alistair Sutherland, explains, the firm’s IT support services have proven very popular. There is a healthy market out there for companies like Synthesis in helping firms who need IT support but who can’t afford to employ technical staff.

“Through our gold, silver and bronze packages, clients can bring in the expertise and knowledge they need to run IT systems.”

Clients can choose from a menu of options. These range from booking a set number of hours each month for an engineer, to intensive, ongoing systems design and support and training.

Not only can Synthesis IT clients book the services of an engineer, they can even request the attendance of the same technician every time. That way, he almost does become a member of their staff.

Mr Sutherland adds: “It's all about building relationships with clients and providing bespoke services.

“This is a very good, cost effective way of buying in IT support services, with no holiday or sick pay, none of the plethora of costs involved in employing someone.

“I think what makes our packages so distinctive are their flexibility. We don’t tie clients down to long-term contracts, if that isn't what they want. They can buy in our services on a monthly, weekly or as and when needed basis.

“There are several benefits for businesses taking out packages such as the bronze, silver and gold support services we offer.

“It eases the pressure on cash flow as our packages come with fixed costs and so there are not unexpected IT bills.

“It’s a good insurance policy. If the worst comes to the worst and there is a disaster, our engineers can get IT systems up and running quickly.

“Information technology is mission critical for most organisations but technical support can be expensive.

“We’ve found a healthy market for our products and services through offering bespoke packages that suit every budget.”

Whether you are looking for someone to set up a new IT network or support an existing one, or just need new hardware or business management software, we at Synthesis IT are the people you can depend on to provide you with exactly what your business needs.

We believe it is because of our capability, honesty, experience and ability to provide objective advice that our customer retention remains exceptionally high.
