ELSEWHERE IN THE NORTH: Recent highlights for Archers LawLLP’s commercial property team include advising Geffen Construction on a £900,000 extension of an elderly care home. Christopher Todd heads the practice.

BHP Law is “particularly good at understanding a client’s commercial needs”. It has developed a strong client base including eaga plc, which it is advising on the 25-year lease of a 120,000sq ft landmark North East building. Simon Robinson provides “an excellent all-round service”.

Burnetts has a prominent profile in the public sector, where John Priddle and Tony Lake regularly advise local authorities on acquisition and development matters.

Barbara Painter heads Dickinson Dees LLP’s Tees Valley presence, which supplements the practice’s strengths in Newcastle as well as providing a standalone real estate offering.

Headed by Simon Wake, Endeavour Partnership LLP’s Teesside-based practice advised on the £1.8m acquisition of a former ICI operational site, and concluded for Middlesbrough FC the development of its flagship Rockliffe Hall development.

Jacksons Law’s Geoff Skeoch advises regional and national clients on commercial property issues, and has particular expertise in commercial development.

Baines Wilson Solicitors’ Sean Logue “has a good understanding of commercial lease agreements”. The firm advises both major residential developers and international mortgage lenders.

Cartmell Shepherd’s team is headed by Mike Dwyer, who advises on site acquisition and development matters.
