North East businesses are being urged to attend free events illustrating how some of the biggest changes in payroll for 60 years will affect them.

Auto enrolment legislation means firms now have to enrol most of their workers into a workplace pension scheme. Business advisers and accountants Clive Owen & Co LLP are therefore hosting events in Middlesbrough and Durham in conjunction with NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) and Avensure Employment Law specialists to look at the legal, financial and practical implications.

Clive Owen & Co’s payroll services manager, Angela Cammock said: “There are many aspects to this change in legislation and it is vital employers take time to plan effectively.”

The events will be held on Thursday, January 16, at Ramside Hall Hotel, Carrville, Durham, between 1.30 to 4.30pm and on Thursday, January 23, at MIMA, in Central Square, Middlesbrough between 9.15am to 12.15pm.
