Companies with some of the North East’s most effective HR&D teams will soon go head-to-head in pursuit of a top award.
This year’s CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards features the HR&D Team of the Year Award, sponsored by Clarke Mairs LLP, and calls for top teams from across the region to put themselves in the running.
Entrants should be able to show how their HR&D team has identified, managed and delivered an HR&D initiative that supports the wider business strategy.
Previous winners, including Virgin Money last year, have demonstrated how their HR&D team contributed to business success and worked collaboratively to deliver initiatives or business strategy.
Lee Betchley, head of employment at Clarke Mairs LLP, said: “This is the second year running that Clarke Mairs LLP has sponsored the HR&D Team of the Year Award at the CIPD North East of England Awards, and we are delighted to be a sponsor again this year.
“We have a thriving employment law practice, and we are proud to work on a daily basis with some of the most dedicated and talented HR professionals in the North East.
“We choose to sponsor the HR&D Team of the Year Award because it allows us to show our support for the local CIPD branch and to be directly involved in recognising some of the region’s most outstanding HR&D work in the preceding 12 months.
“It is a pleasure to be associated with such a wonderful event, and we are looking forward immensely to another fantastic awards night.”
The CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards, delivered in associated with The Journal and associate sponsors Nigel Wright, will be presented at a bustling ceremony on June 11 at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
Metro Radio stars Steve and Karen will be on hand to present the awards in front of around 370 guests from across North East industry.
CIPD North East chair, Elouise Leonard Cross, said: “This award celebrates how HR&D can work together to be really effective, operating not as a department of individuals but as a team to achieve some great results.
“In previous years judges have been impressed with how previous winners have made significant impact within their organisations through a key project or a number of activities.
“Importantly finalists and winners showed it was not just what they did but how they went about it that showed what a strong team they were.”
