The hunt is on for the best HR and development stories from across the North East as the annual CIPD North East of England HR&D Awards have launched.
As the region’s most prestigious HR&D awards, the programme will recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the field and the positive impact they have on the business.
Delivered in association with The Journal and associate sponsors Nigel Wright, the awards allow companies to share best practice and inspire future practitioners and businesses.
The awards are open to all types of organisations, regardless of size or sector and the winners will be announced on June 11, 2015, at a glamorous awards dinner at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
Last year’s dinner attracted over 370 guests and, this year, Metro Radio stars Steve and Karen will lead the evening, at which 10 awards categories will be presented.
This year’s categories include:
- People Development Award
- Learning & Development Programme Award – sponsored by NCFE
- HR&D Technology Award
- Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace Award – sponsored by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service
- HR&D Team of the Year Award – sponsored by Clarke Mairs LLP
- Employee Engagement Award – sponsored by Sullivan Brown Resourcing Partners
- Health & Wellness Award
- Change Management Project of the Year Award – sponsored by Cintra HR & Payroll Services
- Reward & Benefits Award
- SME HR&D Award – sponsored by CIMA
We know organisations are continually changing, and it’s important that the HR&D profession leads the thinking on how we can grasp opportunities and overcome challenges.
CIPD North East chair, Elouise Leonard Cross, said: “We are delighted to be launching the 2015 awards, working with our associate sponsors Nigel Wright. CIPD has had some major changes over the last 12 months, including a refreshed brand and logo. We were inspired to use this to refresh the North East awards.
“We have a number of new categories which represent the diversity of HR&D practitioners and organisations within the region.
“There are lots of plans, too, for our awards dinner on June 11. We’re excited that Metro Radio’s Steve and Karen are hosting the awards for the first time, and to have Daft as a Brush as our evening charity.”
Let your organisation’s success be an inspiration to the next generation and get recognition for a job well done. The winners of last year’s team prize, Virgin Money, scooped the award in recognition of the work of their “People’s Team”.
The firm, which has around 2,800 employees, introduced a new HR system, providing colleagues and managers with much greater control and access to more information.
Details of how to enter this year’s awards will be available each Thursday in The Journal until April 30, the day before closing date for entries.
