THE team organising a major event in the farming calendar has brought in a new face.
Caroline Barbour has been appointed assistant event director of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) Livestock Event management team.
RABDF chief executive Nick Everington will continue to hold overall responsibility for the event following the departure of event manager Richard Evans who returns to Holstein UK next month.
Ms Barbour will look after the allocation of all exhibitor stands and the logistics involved with organising the event. She is involved in her family’s livestock business, and has previous sales and marketing experience in the supply sector.
Nick Everington said: “We have had a considerable amount of change in recent years; certainly rescheduling to the first week of July has not been without its critics. However we hope that all concerned – both exhibitors and visitors, will give us the opportunity to demonstrate the merits of an earlier date, which did indeed receive majority support from both exhibitors and visitors surveyed at Livestock 2012. I would like to express my thanks to Richard Evans for his input in developing the event and its subsequent success over the last 11 years.
“I look forward to the newly structured team continuing to build the sector’s leading exhibition staged at The NEC, the UK’s most modern, professional and easily accessible exhibition site.”
