One of the North East’s leading experts in exporting, Richard Sice, has called for the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement to provide measures to encourage more overseas trade.

Mr Sice, chief executive of export service Fast Track China, has helped manufacturing and service industry businesses to export their products across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

He said: “Many companies shy away from taking the first step into exporting and that is a huge shame, because of the huge potential for growth, which lies in markets such as China.

“The Chancellor can help to unlock some of that potential by using the Autumn Statement to support businesses in taking UK innovation, products and service to the rest of the world.

“We have already helped to sow the seeds of such growth with a number of UK companies on our first trade mission to China and it would be fantastic to see measures to encourage more to do the same.”
