Blyth-based assisted living and healthcare technology specialist Tynetec has been bought by Birmingham based Legrand Electric Ltd, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of electrical products, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see Tynetec’s 112-strong team continue to work at the company’s two manufacturing sites as normal.

Tynetec managing director Steve Cornfield said: “Legrand is a market leader with a reputation for quality and innovation, which makes it ideally placed to support the further development of Tynetec whilst ensuring we continue to provide the excellent service and products our customers have come to expect.

“We are proud to be a British manufacturer and become part of a much larger company that also manufactures in the UK. This will help us build on that heritage.”
