What did you want to be when you were young?

Famous.

How much was your first pay packet and what did you spend it on?

£6.75 - I spent it on my very own hairdressing equipment.

What’s your dream job, other than your current one?

I wanted Billy Crystal’s job as compere at the academy awards in Hollywood. I worked there when I lived in Los Angeles - I didn’t get Billy’s job though!

What’s the best piece of business advice you have received?

Give a warm friendly welcome and treat people in the way you expect to be treated yourself.

And the worst?

Sit back, put your feet up and let others run it for you. Be there yourself.

What is your philosophy when it comes to business?

Total commitment. I like my clients to go away feeling it’s been a great experience. Good remarks make repeat business.

What are your hobbies?

Singing, live music and dancing.

What’s your top business or financial tip?

Communicate with your team, regularly airing problems. Show total motivation and be willing to meet every expectation.

Does anything scare you and if so what?

The thought of Coronation Street being axed.

What would you choose as your epitaph?

No complaints.
