OVER the past 25 years, Analox Sensor Technology has established a reputation as a leading authority in its field.
The firm delivers innovative solutions to gas monitoring in a wide variety of environments, including offshore, commercial and sport diving, and industrial.
The Stokesley firm's latest product, the Aspida, is aimed at enhancing the safety of workers in the hospitality industry.
As a specialist in the design and manufacture of gas analysers for military and commercial use, Analox has been supplying its products to the hospitality industry since the early 1990s.
A new dual gas analyser, the Aspida can detect both high CO² levels and low O² levels. The product is designed to minimise the risks to staff working with the potentially fatal gases involved in beer and soft drink gas systems. Exposure to high levels of CO² , particularly in an enclosed space, can lead to dizziness, confusion and ultimately unconsciousness and suffocation. Low O² levels can lead to headaches, shortness of breath and nausea.
Environments in which the Aspida is used include beer cellars, where workers often operate alone among pressurised equipment.
One unique feature of the new analyser is the 'man down' alarm, which is activated if the unit detects no movement. If the wearer does not respond to an initial alert by the unit, it will sound a 110 decibel alarm to alert others in the building.
