A North East IT consultancy has joined forces with online giant Amazon in a partnership set to double headcount and turnover within three years.

Founded in 1991, Perfect Image provides IT services, such as managed servers, networks and systems, to a range of companies from start-ups to blue chip firms and the public sector from its base in Newcastle city centre.

Now the business, which employs 55 staff at its Tyneside head office, has become one of the region’s first to join forces with the American e-commerce company’s online services division – Amazon Web Services (AWS) – as one of its consulting partners in the growing AWS Partner Network.

Perfect Image is one of around 50 UK partners out of 1,020 around the world to which offer a managed cloud computing service, powered by AWS.

Joining up with the global powerhouse is estimated to take Perfect Image’s turnover from its current £4m to more than £8m by 2017, and directors will also look to create new roles to deal with extra demand for its services, increasing headcount to 110 over the next three years.

Andrew Robson, chief executive of Perfect Image, said: “We’re delighted. We took the decision to partner with Amazon Web Services because we understand our customers have a need for the type of infrastructure offered by AWS to support their business needs.”

Launched in April 2012, the AWS Partner Network provides consulting partners like Perfect Image with technical information and sales and marketing support, to help increase business opportunities. Perfect Image will IT solutions to clients in a safe and secure environment supported by AWS.

The company said its growth so far has been cultivated by building strong connections with loyal customers, and the future holds the potential to enlist many more, who are attracted by the fact that AWS is a pay-as-you-go service, meaning customers using AWS technologies through Perfect Image are billed for the service and capacity they use, with no contracts or up-front payments.

Robson said: “We’re proud of the long lasting relationships we foster with our customers and they come back to us time and again because we provide them with bespoke solutions that are right for their business needs.

“Businesses are able to take advantage of all the opportunities AWS has to offer. We’re excited to be bringing the managed AWS offering to the North East and look forward to working with customers on a range of cloud computing projects in the future.”
