BEEF cattle expert Neil Caul has joined Carlisle-based marts business Harrison & Hetherington as its sales development manager for Scotland.
In the newly-created role, he aims to develop the company’s business north of the border, marketing mainly pedigree but also commercial cattle.
Neil, who has more than 30 years’ experience of the livestock industry, has a small pedigree Charolais herd of his own and has previously shown the breed champion at the Royal Highland Show.
He has also judged cattle at leading events across the country, including the supreme cattle championships at Smithfield Show two years ago.
And he has extensive experience on the commercial side of the industry as a prime cattle buyer.
Neil said: “Harrison & Hetherington is recognised across the UK as a specialist auctioneer of both pedigree and commercial cattle and I am looking forward to working with the team – many of whom I already know – to expand sales of cattle from Scotland.”
Dundee-based Neil will be spending the coming months visiting livestock producers across Scotland.
