A hotel and leisure entrepreneur has added a new North East establishment to his chain.
Neel Chawla of Ailantus Hotels, which has a £12m turnover, has acquired Seaton Burn’s Holiday Inn a multimillion-pound deal.
The 154-bedroom hotel includes 11 meeting rooms, a heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room.
Ailantis, which also has hotels in Cheshire, Oldham, Yorkshire and Manchester, likewise acquired the Quality Hotel in Boldon, Sunderland, in 2009 and invested £5m in its refurbishment.
