Construction has started on a £2m residential development set in one of the North East’s most renowned beauty spots.

Five luxury homes are being built in Beadnell, Northumberland, in a project headed up by Newcastle-based property development company Adderstone Group, with Adderstone Construction managing all construction works.

The build of the traditional superstructures is now almost complete in preparation for roof installation and the company said the project, due to be finished by early winter, gives buyers a rare chance to secure high quality coastal retreats or holiday homes in one of the North East’s most prominent areas of natural beauty.

The firm has released computer generated images of the new four and five-bed family homes in the development, known as Tamarin Close, which it said will be high quality detached and semi-detached properties and are already commanding high sales interest.

They are being marketed through property consultants and estate agents, Sanderson Young.

Environmental efficiency figures highly, with each house including log burning stoves to support the central heating system and solar panelling which will supplement hot water supply.

Adderstone Group chairman Ian Baggett said: “This is an exciting project for us. The development is in a much sought-after location.

“Opportunities to purchase property of this type and quality are rare and we are very confident it will be in high demand as it is close to local restaurants, pubs and convenience stores and set prominently on Northumberland’s beautiful coastline.”

The group and specifically the Adderstone Construction team has expanded significantly in recent months as a result of new projects.

Colin Blake joined the construction team as managing director after amassing 28 years of experience in the construction and house building industry.

He’s joined by Simon Hale as senior quantity surveyor and Paul Biggins, who has joined as architectural technician.

Mr Blake said: “Adderstone Construction has experienced dramatic growth of late with the office based staff doubling in size.

“This will have a similar impact across the site team and we’re proud to be in a position to be looking to recruit even more people to our skilled workforce to work across impending projects. We’re looking towards a pipeline of exciting forthcoming developments and literally building for the future.”

Adderstone’s upcoming plans include a new 250-bed student development on Stepney Road, and various other apartment schemes around the city.
