North East based cloud computing company Atlas Cloud has completed its senior team through the appointment of Adam Waugh as chief commercial officer.

Waugh joins after 17 years at Brewin Dolphin where he was head of sales and trading for its investment banking division and, now at Atlas Cloud, he will have responsibility for the firm’s corporate finance and commercial activities.

The firm, which has offices on Collingwood Street in Newcastle city centre as well as bases in London, Leeds and Sheffield, designs, builds and manages tailored hosted desktop solutions.

Waugh said: “There are only a handful of companies nationally that have the capability and security expertise to provide this solution and there is an increasing demand from businesses wanting to move to the cloud. Atlas is the only company in the region who is a specialist in this area.

“Atlas cherry-picked a team of experts from companies like Acxiom, Capgemini and Siemens to work in the company. The people at Atlas are at the top of their game. I am very pleased to have joined them at such an exciting time.”

Atlas Cloud chief executive Pete Watson said: “Adam’s hugely impressive experience at Brewin Dolphin, where he increased revenues from £800,000 to £23m as the client base went from 15 to 120 quoted companies, is exactly what I wanted to add to the team.

“Atlas Cloud can offer the full package of experience and skills that our customers demand as we consolidate our position and continue to grow our reputation”.

Adam’s colleagues on the management team alongside Pete Watson are founders Phil Richardson, chief operating officer, and Chris Morris, chief technology officer.
