A recruitment drive to fill 200 North East jobs is being launched by outsourcing company Firstsource Solutions after the business secured new contracts.

The firm will evenly split the roles between the firm’s sites in Middlesbrough and in Sunderland.

The new jobs are a result of Firstsource winning new work with a global telecommunications provider and a high-profile UK bank, and they come after a recruitment drive in December to employ 40 staff on Teesside, following the major telecoms contract win.

The roles include sales advisors for the telecoms company and customer service advisors for the banking client, providing online customer support with tools such as web chat.

Both full and part-time work is available in the latest round of job creation, alongside flexible working patterns, directors have said.

Firstsource Solutions HR officer Niki Barker said: “Firstsource is delighted to be able to continue to bring new employment to the area at the same time as boosting the level of service we are able to provide to some of Britain’s best known companies.

“This follows on from a recent recruitment drive for around 40 jobs we held in Middlesbrough last December, where a whole new team is being created.

“This is a great opportunity to work for a multi-national organisation committed to providing excellent benefits, staff engagement, training and development and there could also be opportunities to move within the business.

“For the roles we are recruiting, while it is desirable to have contact sales centre experience, it is not essential, so they can appeal to people with a broad range of ages and skillsets.

“There is also attractive on-target earnings, a good bonus structure and benefits package available.”

The global outsourcing firm, headquartered in India, offers a range of services with clients including Barclaycard and Sky and has operations across the UK and Ireland including Edinburgh and Sheffield.

A series of recruitment open days will be held over four weeks on both Wearside and Teesside, starting tomorrow from 9am to 7pm at the Sunderland Marriott Hotel, then at dates to be finalised over the next two weeks.

The Teesside open days will take place at Fountain Court on Grange Road, near mima, Middlesbrough, from 10am to 6pm on March 25 and 26.
