The North East branch of Rics (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) has welcomed a new member services coordinator to its team, based at Citygate House on Bath Lane in Newcastle city centre.
Lanchester-born Helen Whitfield previously managed functions and facilities at the National Trust, which involved organising and coordinating weddings.
As member services coordinator, Helen will be responsible for providing support to local North East members (chartered surveyors) and helping to organise and coordinate a diverse range of events and activities to suit all local property professionals. This includes topical seminars, socials and informal networking events.
She said: “I am delighted to join the Rics North East team. I’m currently planning and organising a wide range of activities to suit those in the industry of all ages and any level of experience and this is what first attracted me to the role – no two days are ever the same. We usually have an excellent turnout at our events too, which will be rewarding for me to see.
“A lot of local property professionals may presume our seminars and events are formal or expensive, but they are quite the opposite. We are committed to giving our members, as well as other professionals in the industry, the opportunity to increase their knowledge and meet new business contacts in a relaxed, friendly environment that doesn’t cost the earth.”
