The catering division of North East tea and coffee company Ringtons is making a splash in the Lake District thanks to the addition of a new business development manager to the Ringtons Beverages team.

Gloria Sanchez joins the business-to-business division of the 108-year-old company with responsibility for securing new business for the family business across the Lakes and North West of England.

With more than 12 years’ experience within the coffee industry, Gloria is already making an impact, having secured high-profile accounts including the newly-refurbished Haig Pit Mining and Colliery Museum and Maryport Golf Club just a few weeks into the role.

She said: “It is fantastic to be part of a family-orientated business with real Northern values. The position allows me to combine my existing experience with the opportunity to grow the business-to-business division in an area of the country and industry sector I know incredibly well.”

Gloria holds a HND in leadership and management from the Chartered Management Institute. Although born and raised in the UK, she is a Spanish national with bilingual skills which she puts to good use fulfilling her passion for travel.

John Broad, Ringtons Beverages sales manager, said: “As a company we are already well-known in the Lake District and West of England and already have a number of high-profile clients in the area including English Lakes Hotels and Langdale Chase Hotel, Windermere, as well as a sales office in Cumbria from which we operate our traditional doorstep delivery service.

“Gloria’s appointment allows us to target more specifically the thriving hospitality and leisure industry in the vicinity and from the very start she had a clear vision for how she wanted to expand the business. She is already proving to be the right person to achieve our ambitious plans.”

The Ringtons Beverages division has been operating for more than 30 years, supplying leading hotels, restaurants, cafes and businesses with tea, coffee, catering supplies and espresso equipment as well as training and venue design services.

Established in 1907, Ringtons is a family business that started life when Samuel Smith began selling tea from a horse and cart to the households of Newcastle. Today Ringtons remains a family business and continues to deliver door-to-door to more than 260,000 customers throughout the UK, and many more worldwide via the online store.
