Advanced Industrial Solutions (AIS) has appointed DAVE JOHNSON to head up its engineering division in order to help the company capitalise on increasing industry demand from industry for full turn-key maintenance and engineering solutions.
As engineering operations manager, Dave will be responsible for managing AIS Group’s recently-expanded engineering division, which offers engineered insulation and fire protection products, as well as general and preventative maintenance and inspection services including industrial cleaning, maintaining and repairing machinery and streamlining of industrial process systems.
Dave’s responsibilities will include liaising with key clients and developing an internal infrastructure to help further grow AIS’s engineering division in line with current targets.
Born and raised in Rowlands Gill, Dave, 40, has a wealth of hands-on engineering and senior management experience having worked in the industrial sector for the past 24 years. He joins AIS from lifting engineering specialists Lloyds British Testing where he was engineering services manager for the offshore sector.
Prior to that he ran his own industrial lifting company for five years, winning a number of national contracts before selling the business in 2007 in order to take on new challenges.
Dave said: “AIS was a supplier to the previous company I worked for so I knew them well. I was always extremely impressed with the company’s significant achievements, as well as its ambition and innovative approach to getting the job done, so when the opportunity arose to join AIS I jumped at it.
“AIS’s engineering division has an enormous range of products and services and deals with some of the world’s biggest brands so it’s a very exciting prospect to now be part of the team going forward.”
AIS managing director Paul Stonebanks said: “We are delighted to welcome Dave Johnson to AIS. He brings with him extensive hands-on experience of engineering, as well as expertise in managing major projects and people at a senior level and will be a great asset.
“AIS has grown significantly year on year, investing heavily in a state-of-the-art offshore training complex which offers all mandatory offshore skills training and competency testing.
“At the same time we’ve been developing and refining our engineering offer to help customers increase efficiencies and maximise the life of ageing assets through engineered insulation products and maintenance and inspection programmes.
