A firm that has been working with the Government to advise companies on new payroll legislation has expanded its services and taken on new staff.
Clive Owen & Co LLP, in Darlington, has seen increased demand for its payroll services since the introduction of auto-enrolment - an initiative through which firms have to enrol most of their workers into a workplace pension scheme - and RTI, or Real Time Information.
As part of its expansion programme, the firm has appointed a new payroll manager, David Peacock, as well as a new auto enrolment and payroll administrator, Alexander Agnew.
The pair will support current senior payroll services manager, Angela Cammock, who has been with Clive Owen & Co LLP for 10 years and has been instrumental in the progress of its payroll department.
Cammmock was chosen by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), of which she is a fellow, to work with HMRC in compiling a best practice document relating to RTI for all payroll bureaus nationally.
She is also a member of the global accountancy network, Kreston International’s national auto enrolment implementation team.
Cammock said: “With fines in place for employers who are not compliant, we’re taking significant steps to ensure businesses are offered support with all aspects of auto enrolment.
“David and Alex will play a key role in helping to manage our ever evolving payroll environment as we become a one-stop shop for all payroll matters.
