The North East’s leading Peugeot dealership has appointed a new director to its team as it plans for growth in 2014.
Simon Bailes Peugeot has appointed Bridget Charlton as marketing director, a promotion from her role as marketing manager.
Charlton has worked at the Northallerton-headquartered firm, which has dealerships in Stockton-on-Tees and Guisborough, for over a decade and is responsible for the its marketing, including online presence, branding, events, public relations, culture and IT.
She joins Simon Bailes and Julie Kirby on the company’s board of directors.
Lesley Thornburn, from Acklam, meanwhile, joins Simon Bailes Peugeot as marketing coordinator, taking on responsibility for developing the company’s digital activities, including a new website, digital used car remarketing and social media activity.
The appointments follow an 8.6% rise in revenues at the business during 2013-2014.
The company’s development plans for this year include significant investment in staff and infrastructure, with a large-scale IT upgrade currently underway.
Managing director Simon Bailes said: “As a constantly growing business, we must have the right leadership team in place.
“We’ve strengthened our board of directors as we move forward into a development phase which will see us work hard to not only increase retail sales but also work on growing our fleet department.

Simon Bailes Peugeot was established in 1979 and employs around 106 people at its three dealerships.
