Guy Thomas Opperman is a British Conservative Party politician, who was elected at the 2010 general election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Hexham. He was born on 18 May 1965 in Marlborough, Wiltshire. In April 2011, Opperman was diagnosed with a brain tumour after suffering from headaches. He has since raised money for the National Brain Appeal at the National Neurological Hospital which he credits with saving his life.

He has also held senior positions at the Daily Record and the Evening Express, Aberdeen, as well as being a former Editor of the Lincolnshire Echo.
