Gus Poyet

Gus Poyet was appointed Sunderland manager in October 2013 following the departure of Paolo Di Canio. The Uruguayan had previously spent time as assistant manager at Swindon Town, Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur before managing Brighton and Hove Albion from 2009-2013. Before his becoming a manager he enjoyed a successful playing career at Real Zaragoza, Chelsea and Tottenham – as well being capped more than 25 times for Uruguay
