The Great North Museum: Hancock is the only natural history museum in the North East. The Museum brings together collections from the Hancock Museum, Newcastle University’s Museum of Antiquities, the Shefton Museum and Hatton Gallery. It was built by the Natural History Society of Northumbria and opened in 1884, to house their growing collection.
When Magic Worlds is finally ready to open at Great North Museum: Hancock at the weekend, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in enchanted worlds peopled by witches, wizards, fairies, elves, dragons and illusionists
Brian was appointed Editor of The Journal in December 2003, joining from Trinity Mirror's Liverpool base where he was Editorial Development Manager for the company's regional titles. He has also held senior positions at the Daily Record and the Evening Express, Aberdeen, as well as being a former Editor of the Lincolnshire Echo.
