Allendale

Allendale is a large village in south west Northumberland and lies within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village’s economy relies heavily on agriculture, mainly sheep farming, and tourism, but its past has strong links with lead-mining smelting and its own railway. It is now popular commuter town for Newcastle upon Tyne.
